Product Information

The ancient Greek concept of kalon meant beauty linked with moral worth and usefulness.  Kalon Studios makes products that aren’t only beautiful in form but beautiful in concept as well.  At Kalon Studios, every effort is made to be as green and sustainable as can be. In their efforts to find sustainable solutions to manufacturing, they’ve engaged the newest and sometimes the oldest methods and materials. They use raw materials that are renewable.  Finish their woods with an oil they developed that is so green, so-non toxic that it’s practically food grade. They’ve made use of the industries most local to us in their manufacturing.  For Kalon Studios, sustainability is defined as having multiple intentions, all of which center on the idea of balance, of giving as much as we take, be it through economics, the environment or on the everyday human level.  All their  products are non-toxic, fully sustainable, and domestically produced in the United States.  Using only the highest quality sustainable materials, each product is domestically made, sustainably produced and hand-crafted to order by traditional furniture makers in New England.

Kalon Studios IoLine Collection was developed to be not just the highest quality nursury products available but also the safest for children and the environment.  Each part that goes into the final products, from the screws to the finish, was laborously hand selected to represent the highest quality product because of our belief that beauty and quality stem from the parts as much as from the whole.

From your baby’s growing body to their growing mind, the IoLine crib is designed to grow with them.  Available in the rich, amber hue of oiled bamboo, the IoLine Crib encircles your infant in warmth while the unique geometric patterning appeals to developing minds.  Cultivated from sustainable materials, the IoLine crib promises elegance, comfort and practicality in one design.  When it’s time, the crib easily transitions into a toddler bed providing comfortable sleeping for your child until the age of 5.  Babies spend two-thirds of their first year asleep; the IoLine Crib ensures a place of slumber that’s as gentle with your baby as it is with the earth.  Conversion kit sold separately.
